The 9th Australian Intantry Brigade

The 9th Australian Brigade were part of the 3rd Australian Division, II Anzac Corps of the 2nd Army, under the command of Brig. Alexander Jobson and was made up of:

The 3rd Division was formed in March 1916 and arrived in England in July and undertook specific training at Larkhill Camp on Salisbury Plain. They went to France in November 1916.

Their position in the Battle of Messines in June 1917 was on the southern edge of the ridge between the River Douve and Ploegsteert Wood.
